pi v1.1.0 reports program status over OSC 7501, adds Claude Haiku 5.5 and adjustable tool defaults
pi v1.1.0 was published on October 7, 2026 and is the newest release. The headline is a reporting channel for hosts: terminals and agent dashboards that support OSC 7501 now see whether Pi is working, blocked on a dialog or login, done, or failed, with PI_PROGRAM_STATUS available to override detection (#10607). A matching aborted flag on agent_settled events lets integrations tell a cancelled run from a finished one.
Model coverage grows on two fronts. Claude Haiku 5.5 arrives as anthropic/claude-haiku-5-5, with adaptive thinking up to xhigh/max effort and prompt caching on Bedrock. On the classifier side, OpenAI’s GPT-6 Luna becomes usable as a classifier through the Decisions API, codemode’s models.classify() accepts images for classifiers that support them, and native llama.cpp decision models — Julia-1, Laya, Kev, lev, and OpenJev on llama.cpp 0.6.0 or later — are listed as classifiers only.
Tool selection gains an adjusting form: --tools entries like pi -t +codemode,-write change the default selection instead of replacing it. Tool renderers get durationMs and outputPad, and outputPad now also applies to ! command output, tool output, and summary blocks.
The fix list is unusually operational. /mcp no longer waits for every server before opening — the manager updates live while enabling, reconnecting, or disabling. Managed installs keep only the new release and the one they updated from, instead of every old one. MCP OAuth sign-ins can be cancelled with Esc at every step, time out after 15 seconds per authorization-server request, and no longer delay shutdown. Session costs stop undercounting long prompts on models with prompt-length pricing tiers — Claude Haiku 5.5, Gemini 3.1 Pro, and GPT-5.4 among them — across OpenCode, OpenCode Go, OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway, Google, MiniMax, and other providers. And server_busy and Mistral finish_reason: "error" responses are retried instead of ending the turn.
