npx @agegr/pi-web@latest## TL;DR
Local browser UI for pi that reuses pi's own configuration and session files — browse and resume conversations, run agent turns, manage models and skills, and inspect project files from the browser.
## Key points
- $Session workspace: browse, resume, rename, export, and delete conversations grouped by project, with running state, context usage, cost, and compaction details visible per session.
- $Two ways to branch: New session creates an independent file from an earlier message; Edit from here branches inside the current session.
- $Project file tools: browse and upload files, inspect Git diffs, and preview source, Markdown, images, audio, PDFs, and DOCX; Git worktrees can be switched from the sidebar.
- $Web-based configuration: provider login and API keys, models, model tests, plugin packages, and skills — all without leaving the UI, sharing pi's credential storage.
- $Requires Node.js 22.19.0+; listens on 127.0.0.1:30141 by default. English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese UI.
## FAQ
Q Does it work with my existing pi sessions?
Yes. Pi Web reads pi data from ~/.pi/agent (override with PI_CODING_AGENT_DIR), so existing sessions, models, and credentials carry over — the Models panel uses pi's own storage.
Q Can I access it remotely?
It binds to 127.0.0.1 by default. Binding 0.0.0.0 exposes an agent with high-privilege execution, so require PI_WEB_PASSWORD (HTTP Basic Auth, user pi) on a trusted LAN, and put HTTPS or a VPN in front — never expose it over plain HTTP.
Q How do I run it on another port?
pi-web --port 8080 (or the PORT variable); --hostname/-H or PI_WEB_HOSTNAME changes the bind address, and --no-open skips the automatic browser.
