install

npm ci then pi -e ./src/index.ts to load once, or pi install /absolute/path/to/pi-experience as a local pi package; requires Node.js 24+ and pi 0.85.1

## TL;DR

An experience-memory extension that taps pi's extension events into its own SQLite and generates per-run summaries in a background forked session for user audit; the main agent merges history into nestable, cross-session experiences.

## Key points

## FAQ

Q Does it touch pi's session files?

No — pi writes its own JSONL; the extension taps extension events and writes its own SQLite, never reading, parsing, indexing, or modifying pi JSONL and never depending on native entry IDs to read messages.

Q Can it import my existing pi history?

No — capture starts when the extension is enabled; it does not import prior pi history and does not turn existing history into this plugin's runs.

Q Where does the database live?

The default is ~/.pi/agent/continuity/experience.sqlite (under PI_CODING_AGENT_DIR when set), overridable with --experience-db or PI_EXPERIENCE_DB; the database is single-writer per session and meant for local disk, not multi-machine shared writes.
