Download Eido-0.0.1-beta3-macos-arm64.dmg from the GitHub releases page, drag Eido into Applications, launch it, and configure your model and authentication in global settings. macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon.## TL;DR
Native macOS AI workspace that bundles the official pi agent: plan tasks in conversation with @-referenced code, edit in Workbench, Code, or Split views, review every proposed change natively, and let the agent drive a browser or the desktop behind an Agent Access setting.
## Key points
- $Conversation and code stay in one place: describe a task, use @ to bring relevant code into the conversation, and keep the task grounded in your project while the agent works.
- $Three views — Workbench for planning and coordination, Code for reading and editing, Split for both together; switching views preserves your conversation and draft.
- $Native review interface: inspect proposed changes and decide what to accept or reject; proposed file deletions and binary changes remain in review until accepted, and supported accepted file operations can be restored subject to checks that protect subsequent edits.
- $Beta3 adds the Ultrafast browser agent, adapted in TypeScript from browser-use/jev-ultrafast: each step combines the operation and indexed target in one Jev request, with text generation only when typing; browser input reuses your main model and authentication by default, with an optional separate text model.
- $Browser Use and Computer Use are available in the beta, with enabled tools governed by your Agent Access choice; Computer Use on Mac needs enabling in global settings plus the app's desktop driver, and Accessibility and Screen & System Audio Recording permissions in System Settings, then a restart.
- $The app bundles official pi 1.1.0, includes an inspector, trace export, recording, and verification tools, and revisits earlier tasks with their conversations and review context; the beta is locally signed, not notarized by Apple, and release assets include SHA-256 checksums.
## FAQ
Q What does Eido need to run?
A Mac on macOS 13 or later with Apple Silicon. Download the arm64 DMG from the releases page, drag the app into Applications, and configure your model and authentication in global settings on first launch. The beta is locally signed and not notarized, so macOS may ask you to approve opening an app from an unidentified developer.
Q How does the agent reach beyond the editor?
Browser Use and Computer Use ship in the beta, with enabled tools governed by the Agent Access setting. For Computer Use on Mac, enable it in global settings, allow Eido under Accessibility and Screen & System Audio Recording in System Settings, and restart the app; the app includes its desktop driver, and permissions granted to a standalone Cua Driver do not carry over.
